In the thick of their own headlining tour, while also doubling down as support on Metallica’s M72 World Tour in addition to their confirmed slate of festival plays, Pantera continues to be relentless on the road. Rounding out their stay for the Southern California portion of their reunion run, the Cowboys from Hell delivered a greatest hits set that reiterated timeless quality and their permanent tenure as a heavy music institution.

Among the highlights from the evening, other than the couldn’t miss consistency of the set, included poignant tribute to the Brothers Abbott, Vinnie and Dime during “Cemetery Gates”. Enduring bangers like “Fucking Hostile” and “Five Minutes Alone” obliterated the amphitheater, while the ageless anthem “Walk” saw a special appearance from Randy Blythe and Art Cruz of Lamb of God as well as thrash legend in Scott Ian from Anthrax.

Finishing off the fans with the haymaker one-two of “Slaughtered” and “Yesterday Don’t Mean Shit”, Chula Vista was laid to waste as Pantera stepped off the stage victorious – reigning as metal’s ever enduring heavyweight hit makers.
