In preparation for the arrival of the Chris Rock reboot in Spiral: From the Book of Saw, HBO Max will gives fans the chance to revisit the first seven Saw films.

Among the most anticipated theatrical releases of 2021 is the revival of the Saw franchise with comedian Chris Rock. Serving as the film's star (along with co-star Samuel L. Jackson), story developer, and executive producer - Rock's usual comedic presence takes a backseat to a much more serious, sinister role.

Tapping director Darren Lynn Bousman, who helmed the franchise's second, third, and fourth installments, Spiral: From The Book of Saw is said to embrace all the gory glory of its predecessors, with a bit of a twist. In a recent feature in Empire, Bousman shared that Rock's vision for the latest iteration of the Saw story, involved a methodical element of horror in much the same way David Fincher kept fans guessing in his menacing masterpiece, Seven.

After experiencing some obvious delays due to the ongoing pandemic, the film is set to arrive on May 21st. Before then, HBO Max is giving fans of the franchise the ability to revisit the almost the entire Saw catalog by streaming the first seven films from the collection.

Starting February 1st, Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, and Saw: The Final Chapter will all be available on the streaming service. With both James Wan (director of the first Saw film) and Darren Lynn Bousman playing such integral parts of the enduring franchise, as well as the reboot, the opportunity to brush up on all things Jigsaw will segue nicely into the May premiere.

In the meantime, take in the tease of the next chapter of the Saw saga.
