In the days since the actress Evan Rachel Wood leveed accusations of malicious abuse at the hands former boyfriend Marilyn Manson, the collateral damage that has transpired as a result has been swift.

As it stands, Manson's record label, Loma Vista Recordings, has dropped him. Manson's longtime booking agent, CAA, has terminated their relationship. Manson's pending television appearances on Shudder's Creepshow and STARZ American Gods have both scrapped their respective episodes - all this in a matter of 48 hours.

Now, Manson's former collaborators are drawing a line in the sand by maligning his behavior.

Speaking to Pitchfork, Nine Inch Nails' frontman Trent Reznor issued a very clear statement condemning the artist.

"I have been vocal over the years about my dislike of Manson as a person and cut ties with him nearly 25 years ago. As I said at the time, the passage from Manson’s memoir is a complete fabrication. I was infuriated and offended back when it came out and remain so today.

The passage Reznor is referring to is from Manson's 1998 autobiography The Long Hard Road Out of Hell. With Manson' past currently under a microscope, the deplorable first-hand account from his book that has since resurfaced portrays a graphic instance of sexual assault that implicates Reznor.

As former friends and collaborators, Reznor played an integral role in nurturing the earliest years of Manson's career. Reznor produced the 1994 debut album Portrait of an American Family and worked on the seminal 1996 effort, Antichrist Superstar. In the years since, Reznor had distanced himself from Manson and did not hesitate to articulate his contempt.

Another former collaborator to speak his piece about the resulting fallout is Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland. Performing as the band's touring guitarist between 2008-2009, Borland took to the Space Zebra podcast an shared the following,

“Marilyn Manson… I was in the band for nine months. He’s not a great guy. And every single thing that people have said about him is fucking true. So relax about the allegations towards the women… Like when people these women that are coming after him right now… Fuck off. They are speaking the truth. And I’m sorry to everyone on this podcast right now who doesn’t like this, but that guy — he’s amazingly talented, but he’s fucked up and he needs to be put in check and he needs to get sober and he needs to come to terms with his demons. He is a bad fucking guy.”

Borland continued with his denouncing of Manson, “I was there when he was with Evan Rachel Wood. I was at his house. It’s not fucking cool. And that’s all I’m gonna say about it. So if anyone is coming after these girls and going, like, ‘You blah blah blah, this and that,’ fuck you. That’s all I’m gonna say.”

Borland punctuated his statement in saying, “Sorry to take this to a dark place, but that guy is canceled. Goodbye. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
