It's hard to imagine that just one year ago, Power Trip was in the thick of a tour of Asia that touched down in Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Jakarta, Singapore, and Bangkok.
A testament to the kind of reach the Texas metal outfit had achieved, the band had always held a teflon reputation with regards to the powerful live show and to take their brand of aggression to destinations throughout Asia further reiterated just how far that word had spread.
Revisiting what life was like just a year ago, a new video has surfaced of Power Trip performing a live set in the capitol of the Philippines - Laying waste to 123Block, Mandaluyong City in Manila.
The performance not only showcases the band's unique command of the room, but further cements dearly departed frontman Riley Gale as one of the very best on the microphone among the ranks of heavy music artists.
The set included the band's essential tracks "Soul Sacrifice," Firing Squad," "Hornet's Nest," Crucifixation," "Hammer Of Doubt," "Suffer No Fool," "Crossbreaker," and the always necessary, "Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe)". The pro-shot performance serves well in capturing and communication the kind of volatility packaged into a Power Trip set and will remind the audience what kind of a thrill a proper metal show can provide.
Riley Gale would tragically pass away on August 24th. He was only 34 years old.
RIP Riley Gale. Watch Power Trip in all their live glory from just one year ago below.
