The Megadeth architect recounts the highs and lows linked with one of metal’s most iconic releases.
Megadeth frontman, metal ambassador, and New York Times Bestseller, Dave Mustaine has announced the details of his latest book, Rust in Peace: The Inside Story of the Megadeth Masterpiece. Set for a September 8th, 2020 release date, the memoir will recount the triumphs and turbulence of the Rust In Peace record – universally regarded as one of the most important contributions to the archives of metal music.
The comprehensive chronicle of the record, the book delves into the era, spanning from hiring the right personnel, to the notorious excess of the would eventually lead to the band’s unraveling. Rust In Peace channeled the counter-culture of the time and catapulted Megadeth into a new stratosphere of success. The story recounts the pitfalls of navigating that success in an environment marred by drugs, ego, fortune and fame.
Penning the forward for the book, Slash of Guns N Roses writes,
