Thank you Joey

I was maybe around age 14 and i had to pick my subjects for my GCSE years, having no music experience. I decided to pick music because i thought it would be easy and a laugh. I had to choose an instrument to "specalise" in so i chose drums on a whim. My drum tutor at school gave me some home work to find drummers that i enjoyed listening to. Again i had no experience of the metal world at this time and the internet wasnt really a thing. So i asked friends, my friend Kirky lent me Iowa. well that was it i fell in love with the band straight away and i decided from then i wanted to drum like Joey. My next drum lesson my tutor even noticed a change in attitude towards learing. Slipknot/Joey changed my entire perspective towards music. So 20 years on i am still a drummer and i owe that to Joey and for that i say thank you. You will be sorely missed though out the entire metal community.

The greatest

R.I.P to the greatest drummer. First time I heard this band, I had stumbled upon the Psychosocial music video and seeing them all wear masks was so cool to me. Joey's mask in particular. The more I listened, the more I appreciated the drumming and started looking up videos on YouTube. The drum cam of him playing disasterpiece is probably my favorite. Just watching his legs go to work on the double bass in the beginning was insane to me. I always held out hope he would return or even make another appearance on Slipknot. It didn't happen, but the impact he made is going to live on and continue to inspire future generations. You will be missed, 1.

Can’t believe it

Joey was the first drummer I studied and strives to be as good as him. When I got injured in the Air Force, I couldn’t play drums anymore because of knee surgeries and the type of injuries. I listened to interview after interview of Joey and to hear him say he had no other passion but music made me cry. When I read of his passing, I literally broke down into tears as my IDOL was no longer here. I speak for many when I say JOEY CHANGED OUR LIVES AND YOU BEST BE MAKING MUSIC WITH PAUL. WE LOVE YOU JOEY #1 drummer of all time. #ROCK IN PEACE KING

I still refuse to believe that

Slipknot empowered me thought live. From your music guys I found more understanding than from anyone around me. And each of band member became like a close friend. And now realizing that Joey is gone is extremely painful, I feel empty…

Fly high Joey #1🥺❤️

I remember the first time listening to slipknot and korn, I wasn’t really into it and when I heard the drumming I shot to google and looked up who the drummer was then put their songs on repeat for hours. Joey was my favorite drummer of all time. He passed on my birthday. That’s the day I started listening to them in 2015. He made me so happy. The whole band is just awesome. We will all miss you Joey🥺💔

Thank you, Legend.

I remember having 7 years old when I saw slipknot, and the first thing that caught my attention was Joey's mask and his drumset, I was totally shocked and he was my inspiration to staring playing drums, I will never forget the day I decided to call you my idol.
Thank you for your inspiration and work in Slipknot.

Thank you, Joey! #1

I’ll never forget the first time I actually sat down and listened to Slipknot in 2007/2008. I was looking for the hardest bands, and then I came across you guys. The first thing I noticed was the intense drumming. I instantly fell in love with this band. You guys got me into more extreme music.
Joey, you have always been one of my favorite drummers, you always went on stage and made it look easy. I will forever appreciate you and the rest of the band for the impact you made in my and other people’s lives, the intense music, that you have done with Slipknot and bands outside of Slipknot like Murderdolls, Sinsaenum, even Scar the Martyr and Vimic! You are forever in the hearts of millions of people! May you Rest in Power, #1!

He inspired music snobs

I worked for a renowned music school for Jazz. One of my student assistants was in the drum program and stated that Joey Jordison was an inspiration right along with the usual array of jazz drummers (granted, he was from Iowa). I was shocked. But I figured, if this jazzhead likes him, maybe this band is more than clowns in costumes. If been a fan ever since.

Rest in Peace Joey #1 ❤️ RE EDIT

Previous one had a year error.. and can't edit or delete..

The news of Joey's passing was so sad to hear, such a talented humble human being.. gone way to early.. I was fortunate enough to see Joey live with Slipknot in 2011 at Sonisphere UK my first ever show and it was powerful, at the end of the set my heart broke watching Joey hug Paul's suit and mask.. his finally got that hug after reuniting in the concert in the sky ❤️

I met Joey at a Vimic show in 2017 I was hesitant to ask him to sign my Sonisphere ticket which he was happy to do! Then asked for a selfie with the man! A night I won't ever forget ❤️

My thoughts are with Joey's family and the Slipknot family 🤘🏻❤️

Still cant believe this is True

I recall the first time I saw Slipknot and it was at Ozzfest back in 2000 or 2001 and since then I was hooked. I worked as a Fire/Medic for 30 years and became sidelined due to a bad heart. I would play your music in my ambulance all the time and my partners loved it, I even played your music during long transports for the PT's and they enjoyed. Joey aka #1 you will live on forever. And thank you for the years of Great Music with your Brothers……..

Rest In Peace Joey (1)

It hasn't hit me till today. Once I heard the news it shocked me and couldn't believe it. You were the one who caught my eye when I first started listening to Slipknot. The way you played the drums was insane. Slipknot won't be the same without to. Your presence and what you brought to Slipknot will forever be cherished in the Maggots hearts and minds. We will never forget you Joey you'll be with us Till We Die. Rest easy Joey Jordison. (1)
