After more than a year without the live concert experience, one of the biggest tours of the year is aiming to make up for lost time.
Having a banner 2021 with the recent release of their universally-praised seventh full length album, Fortitude, Gojira has added to the swell of momentum with the announcement of one of the biggest tours of the year with the French metal powerhouse positioned at the very top of the billing.
Wrangling up a potent pair of aggressive music’s most exciting outfits in Knocked Loose and Alien Weaponry, Gojira have confirmed a run that will commence in September and close out the month of October. Along the way, the band will be making a highly-touted appearance at one of the biggest hard rock festivals of the year in Aftershock.

The news of the new tour underscores what is proving to be a pivotal year for Gojira. The headlining run is set to immediately follow the close of the band’s caravan in between Deftones and genre-bending sensation, Poppy. The 27-date jaunt will span the United States. After having to reschedule it’s dates, the highly-anticipated run will serve as an important precursor of what Gojira will deliver when they take on the headlining duties.
The touring news and the release of the band’s album ‘Fortitude,’ are augmented by the band’s impactful message of environmental responsibly and their profound call to action with their ‘Amazonia’ campaign. The band has been working with The Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil and launched a fundraising effort via Propellor. The month long auction and the the cache of collectibles the band managed to coral from the likes of Metallica, Tool, Slayer, Lamb of God, and a myriad more, helped the band smash their fundraising goal of $75,000. making in more than $300,000, Gojira’s charge has established an important precedent in artists using their platform to prompt change.
