Mastodon release new visual for “Fallen Torches”

The track is featured on the career-spanning compilation, Medium Rarities.

Celebrating the release of the comprehensive Mastodon compilation Medium Rarities, the band has unveiled a futuristically-ethereal visual for the track, “Fallen Torches.”

Debuting in July, the track features longtime friend and collaborator, Scott Kelly of Neurosis. Enlisting the help of Hey Beautiful Jerk, the band managed to tap into their creative limits despite being limited to what they could pull off during a pandemic.

Punctuating the build-up leading up to the release of Medium Rarities, “Fallen Torches” functions as a sort of curtain call, as Mastodon marks their 20th anniversary as a band. The collection of classic covers, soundtrack contributions, instrumentals, B-sides, and live recordings spans the quartet’s two decades and reiterates the impact the band has had since their debut.
