The band’s highly-anticipated album Parrhesia arrives next month via Sumerian Records.
Charging towards their March 25th release, Parrhesia marks the first parcel of new music from progressive flagbearers Animals As Leaders in six years. Given the long layoff, the promise of new material has sparked a fire with fans as previews of the album in “Monomyth” and “The Problem Of Other Minds” in just months have already racked up nearly 1.5 million Youtube views and over 2.4 million streams solely on Spotify.
Adding to the swell of the forthcoming record, Animals As Leaders have shared a third single with the arrival of “Gordian Naught”. Using music to stoke social commentary, guitarist Tosin Abasi explains the headspace the prompted the track. This song attempts to put a soundtrack to the metaphor of “untying an impossibly tangled knot” A sonic commentary on the seemingly sustained problems facing the world currently.”
To celebrate the unveiling the band’s latest studio release, Animals As Leaders are set to begin a stretch of tour dates supporting Parrhesia. Aligning with the arrival date, the tour is set to kick off next month in Denver on March 30th and continue on an 18-city run before the finale in Los Angeles at the Ace Theater on April 22nd. The tour will featurre Animals As Leaders play two sets, one of which will feature the new album in full.
