Australian death metal outfit Honest Crooks unleash pure rage on their new single “The Sounds of Hell,” the title track from their upcoming album due out February 10th via EVP Recordings. The new single is a mid-paced, rhythmic brutalizer that combines heavy hardcore and death metal in signature Honest Crooks style. Pre-orders are available HERE.
Vocalist Brodie Graham shares of the track: “A percentage of the lyrics on this album are about a fictional hell and another percentage are about my own personal hell, a document of some of my lowest lows and worst experiences. This song is an interesting one as I originally thought I was writing it in the context of the fictional hell to fill up the rest of the album. But after some time I realized, I had written a song about a very intense experience I had as a child without consciously knowing it at the time. After a lot of introspection I now see I needed to do that to begin the cathartic process, to address the emotions I buried deep in my subconscious so I can start to move forward from the experience. The addition of having Elliott, Sonya and Peter Gallart feature on the track was also very special to me. I’m grateful to have this song in the record.”
The track follows previously released single “Furnace of Rage.” These singles set the stage for an album that is passionate, fierce, and that digs deep into the darkness of who we are.
In support of their upcoming album, the band will also trek across the east coast of Australia with support from Japanese death/doom/hardcore band Kruelty. Tickets are available HERE.
