The latest cut from the band’s groundbreaking 2020 stream presents a fan-favorite from the band’s enduring 2007 album The Apostasy.
Extreme metal provocateurs Behemoth are just weeks away from the release of their live album that captures the raw power a blasphemous spectacle of their universally-praised 2020 streaming event, In Absentia Dei.
Regarded as one of most immersive and innovative productions of the pandemic era, the Polish powerhouse took to an abandoned church in especially conservative country to unleash a streaming event that set a new standard. Showcasing songs from their critically-acclaimed 2018 Metal Blade release, I Loved You At Your Darkest, in addition to fan favorites spanning the band’s three decades tenure, In Absentia Dei remains a crowning achievement in what has been already historic run.
On December 17th, Behemoth will underscore the significance of the streaming event with the release of the live album iteration of the production. To offer an indication of the live prowess that anchors the album, the band have released another sample in the visual for “Prometherion”. The fan favorite from Behemoth’s eighth studio album in 2007’s The Apostasy serves as an example of the band’s enduring shelf life and continued domination.
“Legions! For some of you, The Apostasy is the ultimate BEHEMOTH experience. Here, we present to you a song from that record which we filmed during In Absentia Dei. Enjoy it!“
Produced by Grupa 13, In Absentia Dei was unveiled in four acts, complete with high-production theatrics and plenty of flames in what seemed to engulf the sacred building – an especially hellacious backdrop.
In Absentia Dei, the live album from Behemoth arrives on December 17th via Metal Blade Records. The album is currently available for pre-order – HERE
