The ominous track depicts a dying planet at the hands of corporate greed.
Glasgow groove metal outfit Bleed From Within continue their maniacal charge towards the June 3rd arrival of their eagerly-awaited full length, Shrine.
Unleashing an arsenal of punishing singles from the album including “Stand Down” and “Levitate,” Shrine thus far has showcased a band operating at their creative peak, at a relentless pace. Building off of the horsepower that anchored the band’s lauded 2020 full length, Fracture, the Scottish unit has emerged galvanized from an era of turbulence that nearly saw the unit come undone.
Adding to the intensity and fervor of the band’s sixth and arguably most important full length, Bleed From Within have unveiled the fourth preview of the album with the wall of sound packaged into the epic,”Flesh And Stone”.
The dynamic cut showcases the band’s penchant for stylistic versatility, balancing blackened char with symphonic elements that establishes a brilliant soundtrack for the song’s overarching theme. Addressing the looming environmental crisis, the track details the destruction of the planet at the hands of the big corporations.
Bleed From Within’s Ali Richardson further explains, “Flesh And Stone was born from the idea that future generations will inherit a dying planet. The evidence to support this theory is overwhelming, but we are still met with people who choose to deny the fact that this world is finite. Avoiding the traditional performance style video, we instead wanted to create a cinematic fictional world that could no longer defend itself from the sun; a barren wasteland once full of life. In her isolation, our desperate protagonist has resorted to rituals in order to manifest some form of life on this dead world, but it’s too late. It was fun watching this world come together, and we’d like to thank our friend Matt Daley from Clearway Media for his great work on this. Aside from the video, this is a stand out song on the album, and for good reason. We’ve been waiting patiently to share this with you all.”
