Bloodstock Open Air adds Venom Prison, Napalm Death and more to the festival line up

The four-day excursion boasts an incredible line-up that continues to add some of the best in heavy music.

Despite a full year without touring, concerts, and grand scale music festivals, 2021 is set to resume the live spectacle and one of the most anticipated events of the year is the annual metal pilgrimage of Bloodstock Open Air.

Recently confirming the only U.K. performance for Judas Priest, who will close out the final evening of the four-day event, Bloodstock’s bolstered roster includes an extra day to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the gathering. That means plenty more metal going down on the greens at Catton Park, Derbyshire.

Bloodstock Open Air has announced the addition of seven more bands to the line up. Among the marquee names in the lot include the confirmation of recent Century Media signees, Venom Prison. The death metal phenoms will perform Friday night on the Ronnie James Dio stage. The band exudes, “Venom Prison are honored to be invited to play at the legendary Bloodstock Festival again, having first appeared at the 2017 edition. This will be our first show in nearly two years since the world was shut down by the pandemic. We can’t wait to step out on stage again and cause utter destruction. See you in the pit.”

Following the success of their 2020 Primeval release, the band’s currently in the studio prepping their follow-up LP – one that is certainly primed to be one of the most anticipated in the genre.

Also confirmed for the festival roster is another 2020 standout in the legendary Napalm Death. Still riding the momentum of their critically-lauded LP, Throes of Joy In the Jaws of Defeatism, the band will replace Bloodywood in the line-up and will most certainly deliver one of the most brutal sets of four-day excursion.

Among the added bands in the latest announcement include Borstal, which features revered drummer Nick Barker (Brujeria, ex-Cradle of Filth), Internal Conflict, King Creature, Primitai, and Terra IV. With sixteen weeks left until the gates open, there are sure to be more additions to the line up.
