American fans will finally be able to experience the live force of the band’s 2019 Metal Blade LP, Death Atlas

In 2019, the world of extreme music was gifted the ninth studio album from San Diego destructors Cattle Decapitation. Hailed by critics and fans alike, the album was the band’s return to form after more than four years in between albums – marking the next chapter in the cult-like base cultivated by the outfit.

Touring internationally to support the album, the band managed to hit both Australia and Japan to showcase their latest show of force, but found themselves in an abrupt halt as the Covid-19 pandemic curtailed the band’s remaining tour plans for the foreseeable future.

Thus, the band found themselves in a strange predicament – armed with arguably their best recorded effort to date and no place to showcase it. Nearly two years exactly since the release of Death Atlas, Cattle Decapitation have unveiled a 2022 North American trek in support of the album and they have recruited The Last Ten Seconds of Life, Creeping Death and Extinction A.D. for the run.

For Cattle Decapitation and their Death Atlas, it’s ‘Death… At Last’.

The band’s architext/frontman Travis Ryan explains, “We are ecstatic to be able to finally announce a US tour after almost two years of inactivity in the States due to the pandemic! Our latest album and what we consider to be the bands finest hour in our entire 25 year history, Death Atlas, will finally get its due in the States.”

Ryan further explains how the pandemic derailed the band’s momentum, “Before things shut down, we had nailed down what we felt was our best live set we had ever done and had played it in Australia, New Zealand and Japan but were cut off before we could bring it to the states after you all had fully digested it.

The vocalist punctuates the announcement in sharing his enthusiasm to finally be able to tour for the album that never got it’s proper due. “Well, we’re happy to say we’ll be taking some time out of our busy writing schedule to do this album some justice LIVE starting this January. We’ll be bringing along some bands whose names fit nicely in the aesthetic of Death Atlas including THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, CREEPING DEATH and EXTINCTION A.D.! We ALL deserve everything that’s coming! DEATH…AT LAST!
