On the move to bigger digs, the 2023 celebration of hardcore will also feature sets from Earl Sweatshirt, Trapped Under Ice. Loathe, Show Me the Body, Speed, ZULU, Jesus Piece, Scowl and many more.

Marking the tenth anniversary of the congregation, organizers of respected UK pilgrimage in the Outbreak Festival managed to assemble an astounding roster of multi-generational hardcore – the kind of festival bill that not only spoke the producers’ collective hardcore IQ, but underscore the reach of the community.

Topped by performances from international powerhouses like Turnstile, Knocked Loose, the only show of 2022 for Basement, Vein, Deafheaven, Touche Amore, Terror, Ceremony, Incendiary, Counterparts, VEIN.FM and literally dozens more, the spectacle of Outbreak Fest was rooted in the kind of reciprocal exchange that characterizes the genre – the show on stage was amplified by the spectacle on the floor.

While the 2022 edition found a space in the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester, the growth of the event has again compelled organizers to find new digs to accommodate the growing demand. The 2023 edition of Outbreak will take place at thier new home of Depot Mayfield in Manchester. Adjusting from four days to three, the initial line-up for the 11th installment has been revealed and the roster thus far is as dynamic as it is diverse.

Among the anchors in place to top the 2023 edition of Outbreak include hip hop outlier Denzel Curry. Respected among a broad swath of fans across all genres, Curry’s dexterity on the mic and intensity onstage make him a perfect fit for such a forward-thinking festival. Another huge coup for Outbreak is the confirmation of Death Grips – the tandem of  MC Ride, Zach Hill, and Andy Morin. The trio recently announced their first show since 2019 with a slated appearance at Sick New World In Las Vegas and will now make the trek across the pond to headline Outbreak.

Among the guitar-driven units topping the fest include a headlining set from mathcore frame makers Converge. With a tenure spanning nearly three decades and some 10 full length studio albums, few bands are as celebrated and have had as much of an influential impact as the Massachusetts post-hardcore pioneers.

Also bolstering the bill, Code Orange are confirmed to make their highly-anticipated return to the UK. Touring relentlessly in support of their Covid-era triumph, Underneath, the gathering in Manchester will mark the band’s first shows in the region in years.

Additional artists confirmed in the first round of announcements for Outbreak 2023 include Earl Sweatshirt, Loathe, Show Me the Body, Trapped Under Ice and Turnover. Sourcing a brilliant pool of emerging artists, Outbreak has also recruited Candy, Fleshwater, GEL, High Vis, Jesus Piece, Koyo, Lil Ugly Mane, One Step Closer, Scowl, Spy, Soul Glo, Speed, WIKI, and ZULU among the first wave of artists set to pummel the stage.

The fest will take place on 23rd, 24th and 25th June 2023 at the new home of Depot Mayfield, Manchester.
