The brief European tour will see support from Alexandria and I, Prevail on select dates.
Multi-platinum arena-sized hard rock mainstays Disturbed have confirmed more touring plans in support of their eighth full length studio album, Divisive. The project which landed late last year, served as the band’s highly-anticipated return since their heralded 2018 effort, Evolution.
Recruiting producer Drew Fulk (Motionless In White, Lil Peep, Highly Suspect) as a creative collaborator, the album was first previewed by the smash hit single, “Hey You”. Upon it’s release, the single quickly ascended to the #1 spot on the US Rock Charts, marking the band’s 15th top spot. In the weeks after it’s premiere, the track went onto amassed a staggering 10mil-plus streams across major DSPs – reiterating the appetite for Disturbed’s next chapter.
The second preview of Divisive with the arena-ready single, “Unstoppable”. Boasting the band’s signature groove and high-octane command, exceeded all of the criteria that propelled Disturbed to become one of rock music’s most bankable bands.
Speaking to the bigger thematic elements and the social commentary loaded in Divisive, frontman David Draiman explained, “Partisan tribal warfare has become a part of our regular existence nowadays. It’s one big battle of the cliques. The whole idea of the record is to be a wakeup call for everyone. Our society has become addicted to outrage. Music is the best cure for what ails us though. If only everyone reached out and used it. There’s no better environment to forget about all of this shit than live music. We can be together and realize we have more in common than not. Recognize what’s happening and let’s make a change for the better.”
Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan emphasized the spirit of cohesiveness the album, “Whatever it takes, we’ve got to pull it together. We’ve always tried to take negative topics and spin them in a positive light. From touring around the world, we’ve seen the power of music as the universal language to bring everyone together from all walks of life. We can still play songs to unite people, and it’s a pretty powerful feeling.”
Echoing the spirit of the album, the band is embarking on the first leg of the Take Back Your Life Tour. The European run will include appearances at Austria’s Nova Rock Festival as well as a play at Donington for the UK’s famed Download Festival. From there, Disturbed will perform a succession of dates throughout Europe before completing the run with finale in Tel Aviv, Israel on June 28th.
