In a dream pairing for guitar enthusiasts, neoclassical rock musician Yngwie Malmsteen has announced a U.S. tour with Rob Zombie’s John 5. The run kicks off on November 18 in Glenside, PA and will span the both costs as well as the Midwest before wrapping up in Dallas, Texas.

The tour is in support of Malmsteen’s album Parabellum, which is set for release on July 23 via Mascot. Thus far, the Swedish prodigy has said that the spontaneity of his writing style is evidenced in the project’s refusal to compromise with online critics. Fans can expect an unapologetically visceral experience this fall when Malmseteen will be bringing his newest work to life on stage. Parabellum is the followup to 2019’s Blue Lightning, which features epic covers of ZZ Top’s “Blue Jeans Blues” and Jimi Hendrix’s  “Purple Haze.”

In his over 40 year career, Malmsteen has produced 21 studio albums, having started his first band at just 10 years old. He has largely made a name for himself by performing in classical-inspired styles, with Niccolò Paganini and Johann Sebastian Bach being among his top catalysts for creating music.

Supporting act John 5 made headlines last month after announcing his involvement with the new supergroup L.A. Rats alongside Rob Zombie, Nikki Sixx, and Tommy Clufetos. In addition to performing in Zombie’s live band, John 5 has worked with the horror director on his films The Lords of Salem (2012) and 31 (2016). Since 2004, the guitarist has also released an impressive 12 solo albums, with his most recent being 2020’s Live Invasion.

This summer, John 5 will be heading on the road to promote his solo work, as well as performing at festivals with Rob Zombie.

Malmsteen is also playing selected dates in Florida, Texas, and Massachusetts from July 23-August 14.
