I Set My Friends On Fire are going to get on When We Were Young Fest one way or another

The Myspace-era genre benders found the domain name for the festival was available and they bought it. They are holding it hostage for a spot on the bill.

Floridian experimental outfit I Set My Friends On Fire have pulled off one of the most impressive hacks ever in an effort to get onto a show bill.

Following the announcement of mega Warped Tour-esque When We Were Young Festival set for October of this year in Las Vegas, the enormity of the bill left people joking which bands weren’t on the poster. There was one band however that was not included and felt particularly shunned – ISMFOF.

The band hit their socials to express their frustration with being omitted.

Continuing the banter online, the band shared, “FINE. SEE YOU AT THE PARKING LOT STAGE” which references the days during the Warped Tour in which bands would play in the parking lot while fans were cued up in line before doors opened to the show. (Maybe Live Nation should consider a Bar-B-Que band)

After going so far as to photoshop their name as a headliner on the bill, the band thought to do some searching online. What they would find is that there was an available domain name that was very close to that of the festival. I Set My Friends On Fire bought the domain www.WhenWeWereYoungFest.com.

The band made their diabolical plans crystal clear in the comments section, which was understandably going bonkers. “LIVENATION YOU CAN HAVE IT BACK IF U JUST PUT US ON THE FEST…OH AND WE OWN THE INSTAGRAM TOO,” – checkmate ISMFOF.

To be clear, the actual festival website is www.whenwewereyoungFESTIVAL.com but the adjacent domain is so damned close that the secondary domain is definitely getting traffic – which is now steering fans to I Set My Friends On Fire’s Facebook page.

Tickets for When We Were Young Festival go on-sale Friday January 21st.
