The crushing track anchors the band’s late 2021 EP, Hellbent.
Among the stalwarts of the deathcore category, California outfit Impending Doom have delivered a searing dose of audio domination with a new clip for their track, “Culture of Death”.
The track was featured on the band’s latter 2021 EP release, Hellbent, via MNRK Heavy. The core of Brook Reeves (Vocals), Manny Contreras (guitar) and David Sittig (bass) display a skilled meld of almost surgical technicality along with a hefty dose of brutality in what amounts to five-track assault that carries with it the band’s scorching signature.
Skipping the on-screen spectacle, the visual for “Culture of Death” emphasizes the band’s live performance and convincing delivery, with a stylized display of their charged performance and live prowess. As for the intent of the track itself, the band’s vocalist Brook Reeves explained, “’Culture Of Death’ is a song about sacrificing your beliefs to become someone you’re not for people who don’t care only to feel numb in the end and the wanting to feel alive again.”
Hellbent enlisted top-tier personnel with Joseph Calleiro at Dungeon by the Sea in Los Angeles handling the engineering and longtime band collaborator Will Putney (Knocked Loose, The Ghost Inside, Thy Art Is Murder), handing the final mix. The EP also touts the compelling artwork of Jim Pavelec, an illustrator specializing in the occult, sci-fi, horror, and fantasy, including pieces for classic RPG Dungeons & Dragons.
