The spring fling includes an appearance at Sick New World in Las Vegas and features cities Bungle hasn’t played in more than twenty years.
Following the band’s recent triumphant return to the stage with their charge on Latin America to close out 2022, Mr. Bungle and Ipecac Recordings have confirmed a short, albeit spectacular run of show dates this spring. Reviving the label’s famed ‘Geek Show’ tour banner, the 2023 edition will showcase all Ipecac artists with Mr. Bungle being joined by Melvins and Spotlights for a mid-May jaunt.
“The Geek Show tours of the past were some of the best live show experiences I’ve ever had,” says Mr. Bungle frontman Mike Patton. “Hanging out with friends that are also some of my favorite musicians is a great way to spend a couple weeks. This iteration is a mindblower. You will want to be the first one there and the last to leave this party! The mighty Melvins and Spotlights will prove to be a challenge for Mr. Bungle to follow. I only wish we could take this package around the globe.”
The return of the Geek Show showcase serves as the first Ipecac-centric tour since 2004. Adding to the excitement of the specialty-focused caravan includes a handful of dates that sees Mr, Bungle playing cities they haven’t visited in more than twenty years.
Ipecac Recordings Co-owner Greg Werckman shared his excitement with the upcoming run, “It was always nice to be able to coordinate schedules and put a bunch of Ipecac bands together on the road. This is a fantastic lineup. All three bands deliver in their powerful and unique way. I wish it could have been an eight band bill. Hopefully this is only the beginning in getting the Geek Shows going again. Enjoy!”
