Lamb of God launches second collaboration coffee with Nightflyer Roastworks with ‘Overlord’ Dark Roast Coffee

The Virginia metal titans and caffeine enthusiasts share their second collaboration that showcases frontman Randy Blythe’s love for strong, dark coffee.

Lamb of God have had a hell of a 2020. The band released their self-titled record to both critical and commercial acclaim, delivering arguably one of their best recorded efforts in the band’s storied career.

They went on the celebrate the album with a doubled header global streaming event that saw the band perform the album complete only to come back and perform their seminal Ashes of the Wake LP in full – something the band has never done.

LoG also launched a special collaboration with Los Angeles streetwear giant The Hundreds, with a limited edition capsule that instantly became a hot ticket item. The fusion of the streetwear’s style meshed with the aesthetic of one of metal’s most distinguished bands meant every item in the collection had the potential to become a collector’s item.

Then the band launched another passion project in the form of a collaboration with Charlotte, NC coffee roaster, Nightflyer Roastworks. The roastery is owned by friend and contemporary Paul Waggoner of the Between the Buried and Me, and along with Lamb of God’s Willie Adler, the two began what resulted in Memento Mori Coffee from Lamb of God.

The launch was so successful, the team has gone back to the lab and crafted another coffee roast designed for those that like their brew like their tunes – dark.

At the behest of frontman Randy Blythe, Adler and Waggoner worked out a blend of beans from beans from Brazil, El Salvador and Guatemala to craft a cup of coffee that takes it cues from the late night diner coffee so synonymous with life on the road.

I loved what Willie came up with for ‘Memento Mori’ but I have been lobbying him to make a dark roast ever since,” Blythe says. “I like my coffee strong, dark and BLACK like my soul. Overlord checks those boxes!”
