Industrial project Lead Into Gold just revealed a fresh taste of their upcoming album, The Eternal Present, due out April 21st. The brainchild of longtime Ministry bassist and producer Paul Barker the percussive yet ethereal track, “She Lies Beyond”, is the perfect soundtrack to the impending dystopian collapse.
Paul Barker comments on the new track: “Lyrically, ‘She Lies Beyond’ is about the death of creativity but sonically is (hopefully) a contrast between pretty and ugly- the idea being that there is a natural grace to something ending but at the same time, the volition to create forces itself to be manifested. This is a natural cycle that everyone goes through in the creation of art.”
The Eternal Present, which is written, produced and mixed by Barker, will be released via Artoffact Records. It can be preordered via Bandcamp.
As stated above, Barker is known for his work with Al Jourgensen in Ministry for a 17 year stint, as well as other Wax Trax!-era industrial projects: Revolting Cocks, Lard, 1,000 Homo DJs, Acid Horse, PTP, Pigface and more. He is also the co-owner and co-founder of Malekko Heavy Industry Corporation, a guitar effects pedal/euro rack synthesizer module manufacturing company.
The Eternal Present is the third album from Lead Into Gold and is described as “an adventurous romp through distorted and gnarly bass-driven industrial, where your greatest fears and dystopian dys-fantasies lay waiting for just a wee bit of courage.” And: “The album is smart, dark, melodic, abrasive and timeless.”
Lead Into Gold will be supporting fellow industrial legends Skinny Puppy on their upcoming farewell tour. Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off on April 6th at Aztec Theater in San Antonio making stops across the U.S. in Atlanta, New York, Denver and more before wrapping up in Seattle at Neptune on May 9th.
