Stream the anthemic track “Salvation” which features the metal veteran on both guitars and vocals.
The long-awaited arrival of the potential AOTY candidate in Malevolence’s Malicious Intent has finally become a reality. Following an powerful lead up which saw a succession of searing singles in the introductory “On Broken Glass,” the relentless “Life Sentence” and the tribute to the the brotherhood of the band in “Still Waters Run Deep” the range and rage of album three was on full display.
To mark the release of Malevolence’s most complete collection to date, the band have saved one of the compositions most effective weapons for the special occasion. Tapping heavy music veteran Matt Heafy of Trivium, the tandem have unleashed their joint blitz in what amounts to the album’s most anthem track, “Salvation”.
Utilizing Heafy unmatched prowess both as a featured guitarist and on the song’s massive hook, the single underscores the continued evolution of Malevolence as one of the genre’s most dynamic, multi-faeted songwriters. The track balances heft and harmony in a way that allows the band to broaden their scope without compromising their creative core.
The band’s Alex Taylor took the opportunity to look back on the build of the album to express his gratitude for everyone involved in the project. “After hundreds of hours of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, our third album ‘Malicious Intent’ is finally here! We would like to thank everyone who has pre-ordered a copy of the album a million times over. Your continued support means to the world to us. We would also like to thank our team behind the scenes for helping deliver this album, including our family, friends, Nuclear Blast and 5B Management. This is a monumental moment on our path to global domination, we hope you enjoy the album!”
Shaping up to be a banner year for band, 2022 thus far has seen Malevolence successfully complete their first UK arena tour alongside Architects and Sleep Token.
