The band has been forced to fall off of this weekend’s Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, KY.
The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic continues to plague the concert industry and keep organizers on their toes. This time, Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray has tested positive for the virus and thus Mudvayne have been forced to drop off they highly-anticipated appearance at this weekend’s Louder Than Life Festival.
Mudvayne issued the following statement regarding the unfortunate news. “After taking every precaution to follow CDC Covid protocols during rehearsals and recent performance Chad Gray and a few staff members have unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19. The safety of our organization, fans and festival partners must come first. We are left no choice but to cancel our performance at Louder Than Life this weekend.”
Despite the disappointment of missing Louder Than Life, the band is being optimistic about the remaining reunion gigs slated for the rest of their 2021 itinerary. The statement continued, “Apologies to all the fans attending the festival this weekend. We look forward to getting everyone healthy and ready for our Aftershock and Welcome To Rockville performances later this year. We appreciate your love and support throughout these unprecedented times.”
Louder Than Life organizers have announced that Breaking Benjamin will be added to Sunday’s line up in place of Mudvayne. The festival is headed by two nights of Metallica along with headliners Korn and Disturbed plus performances from the likes of Judas Priest, Anthrax, Beartooth, Jane’s Addiction, Gojira, Killswitch Engage, Turnstile, Code Orange and so many more.
