The new release features “Dark Dark World,” which will be the theme for the June 13th NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
Continuing her successful stretch with the WWE, provocateur and genre-fluid boundary pusher Poppy has unveiled a surprise EP with the announcement of EAT (NXT Soundtrack). Partnering with the WWE for the launch, the EP coincides with the arrival of a new track in “Dark Dark World” which will be the theme songs for Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: In Your House event.
“Poppy has been a staple within NXT for nearly three years and her music continues to resonate strongly with our passionate NXT fanbase,” explains Neil Lawi, Senior Vice President and General Manager, WWE Music Group. “Leveraging WWE’s global reach to release her new EP EAT (NXT Soundtrack) has proven yet again to be beneficial for both parties and we look forward to what the future holds.”
The EP consists of five tracks including Poppy’s previously released singles that surfaced earlier this year. Back in March, Poppy took to the Grammy-stage to debut the title track in “EAT,” then followed-up the very next month with the unveiling of “Say Cheese,” live at the April NXT Takeover Stand & Deliver event – both tracks are featured on the EP.
The news comes as Poppy continues to diversify her brand. The enigma recently debuted a cover rendition of Jack Off Jill’s “Fear fo Dying“. She also further cemented her relationship with the WWE by announcing a collaboration merch line with Paul “Triple H” Levesque of the banner.
The WWE Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Paul Levesque spoke about the continued partnership with Poppy. “NXT is all about individuality and building characters, and Poppy has built her own brand in a similar fashion to become the world-renowned artist she is today.”
