The single lands as the band has confirmed additional headlining dates this fall in the UK and Ireland.
Late last year, Ragge metal practitioners Skindred teamed with Knotfest to premiere the first single from their forthcoming full length Smile, with the introduction of the infectious, “Gimme That Boom“.
With a busy year ahead, including the August 4th arrival of their latest LP, Skndred recently revealed the second serving from the project with the debut of the sci-fi leaning, “Set Fazers”.
Frontman Benji Webbe shared, “Star date 22.3.23: With this song we’re going boldly going where no ragga-metal has gone before. We come in peace, L.O.V.E and unity, to bring Skindred’s outergalactic sound-system to the infinite expanse of the cosmos.”
In line with the energized cadence of the previous preview, “Set Fazers” features Tik Tok sensation Shin – who launched a Skindred-centric dance craze this year that has since gained massive traction. That energy and enthusiasm plays an integral role in the latest visual.
Drummer Arya Goggin explains, “The idea with the ‘Set Fazers’ video was to make a Sci Fi meets Dancehall epic! Through TikTok we met an amazing dancer called Shin (whose dance to our song ‘Nobody’ went viral earlier this year) and he’s added his unique style to the video too. We had so much fun filming it and can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
In addition to the latest single, the band has confirmed a run of headlining tour dates throughout Ireland and the UK for alter this fall. Skindred has also tapped Black Gold to serve as support on select dates of the run.
The news adds to the band’s already loaded itinerary, as Skindred have been confirmed to headline both Takedown and Dominion Festivals in the UK before embarking on their arena run as support for KISS on their monumental farewell tour. The band is also set to appear at high-profile festivals including Wacken in Germany and Novarock in Austria just to name a few.
