Slipknot marks their return to South America with Knotfest Chile and Brasil confirmed for 2022

Set for December of next year, both bills will include appearances from Bring Me the Horizon, Mr. Bungle, Sepultura, Trivium, and more.

Th long-awaited return of Slipknot to South America has officially been confirmed. The band’s cultural caravan of heavy in their KNOTFEST brand will pull up the brakes next December for back-to-back weekends in both Chile and Brasil and the supporting line-up of performances boasts some serious festival muscle.

Set for December 11th and December 18th respectively, Knotfest Chile and Knotfest Brasil will feature the headlining spectacle of Slipknot in addition to set from the likes of arena mainstays Bring Me the Horizon, along with Mr. Bungle, Sepultura, Trivium, Vended. For the Brasil edition specifically, the likes of Motionless In White, Project 46 and Armored Dawn will also be added to the festivities.

Knotfest Chile will take place within the confines of Santiago’s Estadio Monumental with the Brazil fans convening at Sambódromo Do Anhembi in São Paulo. Tickets and VIP packages for both events go on sale on August 19th, 2021 at 10am local time from KnotfestBrasil.com and KnotfestChile.com respectively.

The news of the South American editions of the festival come as the band have confirmed stateside gatherings in their Knotfest Iowa congregation, the Knotfest Los Angeles installment and their traveling Knotfest Roadshow iterations all happening in 2021. The homecoming in the Iowa event touts a historic line up that includes sets from Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb of God, $uicide Boy$, Gojira, Trivium, Tech N9ne, Fever 333, Knocked Loose, Turnstile, Gatecreeper and Vended. The Roadshow boasts support from the likes of Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, and Code Orange.

In addition to the announcement of the South American installment of Knotfest, Slipknot has confirmed they are currently hard at work on the full length studio follow up to their critically-lauded 2019 We Are Not Your Kind. Though the band remains characteristically tight-lipped about the details of the progress thus far, the strength of WANYK continues to permeate throughout heavy culture and signify that while Slipknot have established themselves as innovators – they are far from content to rest on their laurels.
