Sylosis announce new album, 'A Sign of Things to Come'

- By Ramon Gonzales

Along with the confirmation comes a brand new video for the second preview of the project with "Poison for the Lost".

UK metal juggernaut Sylosis have been on a tear in 2023. Earlier this year, the band debuted new music with the reveal of the caustic single, "Deadwood" while taking on major plays like their supporting stint for Lamb of God and Kreator at OVO Arena Wembley, London.

With a groundswell of momentum building for the band, an announcement seemed imminent and has now been confirmed. Sylosis will the full length follow up to 2020's Cycle of Suffering with the launch of A Sign of Things to Come on September 8th. The release will arrive via Nuclear Blast Records and marks an important first for the band, as producer and Sylosis architect Josh Middleton explains.

“This is the first time I’ve allowed myself to be produced; taking on some brutal criticism and pushing myself to deliver the best vocal performance of my career. I’m a big fan of progressive and long albums, but I was ruthless on myself during the whole process. I think that shows in the final result on the record!” Middleton shares.

Sharing production responsibilities, Josh Middleton and Scott Atkins have captured a modern metal masterclass on record. A skilled meld of precision percussion, furious fretwork and vocal performance that resonates as pure catharsis, Sylosis are delivering at their peak - further evidenced by the second single to preview the project.

Paired with the announcement of the new full length, Syolsis have unveiled the second single from the album in "Poison for the Lost". The thrash-centric assault showcases breakneck speed and the kind of surgical precision that has become signature for the band. Brilliant guitar compositions, backed by a galloping backbeat all build to a wailing solo of a crescendo that emphatically marks the beginning of the next chapter for Syolsis.

Middleton reiterated his excitement to share the complete work later this year. “This has been a homecoming for me, in many ways! We’re confident that we’ve created something special with our new record and we can’t wait for you to hear the new music over coming months ahead of the release in September.”

Along with the arrival of the next album from the band, Sylosis has been confirmed for the highly-anticipated winter trek throughout Europe and the UK, supporting fellow UK heavyweights Malevolence. The run begins November 7th in Glasgow and wraps December 12th in The Netherlands with additional support from Guilt Trip and Justice for the Damned.
