The festival serves as Slipknot’s first performance in Japan in seven years.

Last month, Slipknot offered the first reveal of their eagerly-awaited return to Japan. While Knotfest Japan has technically been on the books since 2020, the band was forced to reschedule more than once, only adding to the swell of anticipation.

Set for April 1st and 2nd at Makuhari Messe just outside of Tokyo, Japan, Slipknot first confirmed that generational gamechangers Korn would be joining the festivities last month. Among the initial confirmed artists, the April 1st Knotfest Roadshow date included Shibuya City’s own, Man With A Mission. For the April 2nd Knotfest date, which touted metal icons Korn, experimental metal outfit, Maximum the Hormone was added to ensure Tokyo was well represented.

Now, Slipknot has revealed the full line-up for the two day Japanese celebration. Set to perform on April 1st is a dynamic roster of heft that showcases the diversity of the genre. The additional artists confirmed for April 1st engagment include Florida powerhouse Trivium, Swedish legends In Flames and a stacked roster of Japanese sensations including THE ORAL CIGARETTES, Survive Said the Prophet, metalcore standouts Crystal Lake and alt metal practitioners A Crowd of Rebellion.

Joining Slipknot, Korn and Maximum the Hormone for the April 2nd festival finale, Australia’s arena titans Parkway Drive are set to go along with a varied Japanese roster that includes post-hardcore outfit coldrain, electricore collective Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas and supergroup Petit Brabancon which features members of Dir En Grey, Mucc, Tokyo Shoegazer and L’Arc-en-Ciel.

Slipknot is currently touring in support of their most recent full length masterclass, The End, So Far. The two-day engagement marks the band’s first time back in Japan since 2016’s Prepare for Hell Tour – making Knotfest Japan an important global happening in the space of heavy music and culture.
