Championing the torrent and technicality of traditional death metal, New York’s Undeath continue their ascent as the genre’s next on deck with the announcement of their highly-anticipated sophomore studio album, ‘It’s Time… To Rise from the Grave’.
The band asserted their position as an especially promising prospect in 2020 with the arrival of their well-received debut, Lesions of a Different Kind. The album was declared by respected voices like Pitchfork to be “a vicious and nauseating blast of classic death metal” and managed to crest the great5er awareness of heavy music enthusiasts, despite the dismal tone of 2020 overall.
2021 saw Undeath unleash their fury live, helming the opening slot of the massive Up From the Sewer Tour. Joining genre veterans The Black Dahlia Murder along with After the Burial, Carnifex and Rivers of Nihil, Undeath instantly substantiated their hype and joined the conversation as the genre’s next breakout champions.
Building on a two year stretch that has seen Undeath only add to their momentum, the band has established the importance of 2022 with the news of their second album set to arrive April 22nd via Prosthetic Records. Coupled with the news of the album’s release, Undeath have revealed the album’s first offering in, “Rise From the Grave”. The track premiered via SiriusXM Liquid Metal and hits DSPs on Wednesday January 19th.
The album features artwork from the band’s own Matt Browning and includes the first visual for the single “Rise From the Grave” which will air everywhere on the same January 19th. Director Errick Easterday took on the task of bringing Undeath’s maniacal macabre to life for the album’s first music video.
