The August Burns Red-led charity-focused event will see headlining performances from Rise Against and Parkway Drive this February.
While the metal health and wellness have become less stigmatized in recent years, that great awareness could likely be attributed to the efforts of people like August Burns Red frontman Jake Luhrs and his ongoing passion project, HeartSupport.
In addition to his accolades as the frontman for one of metalcore’s most enduring outfits, Luhrs continues to advocate and implement action in helping to provide resources for those in need of help with regards to mental health. Operating with a simple ethos of “Get help. Give Help,” the mission of HeartSupport is to ensure everyone that needs help gets it, and those who can help, know how.
Bridging the worlds of music and mental health, Luhrs and August Burns Red have announced the first-ever HeartSupport Fest set for February 18th and 19th of next year. The two-date festival will convene in Orlando, FL and has enlisted a heavyweight roster of talent for it’s first go round. While August Burns Red will naturally hit the stage, the band will entrust the headlining duties to punk stalwarts Rise Against and arena metal titans Parkway Drive for festival.
Also included on the bill is a rotation of like-minded collectives, with The Ghost Inside, Dance Gavin Dance, Spiritbox, Silverstein, Memphis May Fire, The Devil Wears Prada and Hawthorne Heights joining the festivities. Rounding out the initial artist confirmation announcement, Comeback Kid, The Word Alive, Bleed From Within, Harm’s Way, ’68, He Is Legend, Bloodlines and Prison are also set to perform.
Now, three additional mainstays have been added to HeartSupport ensuring that the line-up is a can’t miss event. The recent Grammy-nominated outfit Underoath has been confirmed to perform. In addition, Massachusetts-own Fear Year Strong will join the festivities along with a set from Connecticut metalcore standouts, Currents. Organizers have also revealed the daily line-ups as anticipation for the first-time event continues to mount.
“Our mission with HeartSupport Fest is not to recreate the festival experience, but to bring the self-care and self-love conversation to the forefront of the festival community by creating a space that promotes active dialogue around challenges that we all face, as musicians, fans, and everything in between,” says Luhrs.
“I’m beyond excited to announce we will be hosting a music festival to benefit HeartSupport and the community! Having the opportunity to host a mission-based music festival with some of my favorite fellow musicians is an absolute dream come true. Our goal with HeartSupport fest is to create a high-energy festival experience that highlights our core values of diversity, acceptance, inclusion, self-love and self-care, and mental health as priority.”
HeartSupport fest will host a Black Friday promotion where single day tickets are discounted to $75 GA and $165 VIP. This deal ends Sunday, November 27 at midnight ET. Get tickets – HERE
