Upon A Burning Body to replace Born of Osiris on In Flames Fall run

Darkest Hour and Hammerhedd will remain on the tour as previously confirmed.

In a recent social media post, Born of Osiris have confirmed that their guitarist Lee McKinney suffered a serious medical affliction that resulted in nearly a month long coma. The statement specified that the musician was in a coma for 27 days and hospitalized for six weeks before being released and finishing his recovery at home.

The news of McKinney’s condition has forced Born of Osiris to withdraw from their upcoming North American tour dates supporting Swedish melodic metal titans, In Flames. Set to begin next month on October 17th in Tampa, FL and stretch through the end of the month, Texas heavy Upon A Burning Body will now step in to take Born of Osiris’ spot.

Still confirmed as additional support on the run, both Darkest Hour and Hammerhedd will continue as previously confirmed.

In the status update regarding McKinney and the future of Born of Osiris, the band is making the most of the time off, sharing they are working on new material and intend to make their December date in Mexico for Heaven and Hell Fest.

“We will be using this time to work on a new album and we will still be performing at ‘Hell and Heaven fest‘ in Mexico on December 4th. We are also working on new tour dates for 2023. See you all soon!”

The In Flames tour coincides with the recent announcement of the 14th studio album from the Swedes with Foregone. Debuting the latest single from their next chapter, “Foregone Pt. 1” included a visualizer created in collaboration with Oleg Rooz using cutting edge AI technology to create the video, making In Flames one of the first bands to use AI to create a visual accompaniment.
