The band’s debut on Rise Records is set to arrive later this year.
Emerging metalcore outfit Spiritbox managed to mount an impressive charge in 2020. The release of their successful smash “Holy Roller” was augmented by the band’s follow-up in the emotive “Constance” – a tandem of tracks that showcased the fill stylistic spectrum of the band.
Kicking of 2021, the band announced their signing to Rise Records and the commencement of the recording of their debut full length album. The news was well received with the greater community of heavy music fans growing even more excited to see what the band had in store.
Sharing the first offering from the album set to arrive later this year, Spiritbox have debuted the Orie McGinness (We Came As Romans, The Word Alive) directed visual for the single, “Circle With Me”.
Frontwoman Courtney LaPlante said of the cut, “This song was written in the studio as a last minute addition, one of the many reasons we are so grateful to no longer be exclusively working remotely. It captures the spectrum of emotions I’ve been feeling lately about my music. From the anxiety I feel about messing up, to a confidence meant to protect me from self doubt.”
In terms of the video, the highly-stylized performance clip is intended to channel the live energy of Spiritbox’s stage show as the prospect of live music still slowly becomes a reality after more than a year-long pause. LaPlante explains, “Visually, we wanted to present the viewer with the image of us that we miss the most: us performing on stage, with nothing to hide behind: instruments, some lights, and beautiful camera movement.”
The first showing from Spiritbox’s forthcoming debut showcases the band’s versatility and complete range as LaPlante transitions from melodic to menacing with fluidity. A refined take on aggression, the balance of competent songwriting and melodic muscle reiterate just why Spiritbox has earned all of their hype.
