Two huge collabs and a nod to Back to the Future 2 round out this week’s must have releases.
The fact that we’re only featuring three shoes this week shouldn’t fool you into thinking there isn’t a healthy (or unhealthy, depending on who you ask) number of releases this week. It’s just that these three, in our humble opinion, stand out above the rest.
Here are the shoes we’ll be trying to add to our collection this week.
Selehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R
Release: Oct 23rd, 2020 at NewBalance.com | Price: $150
New Balance is definitely having a moment, but not in the “they came out of nowhere way,” as anyone who’s into sneakers knows their rich history and cult-like following. NB find themselves positioned for this moment by consistently living in the pop culture realm due to the popularity of the dad shoe.
This collaboration links New Balance and the vice-president of men’s footwear at Versace, Salehe Bembury. This may be the closest we ever get to a Versace x New Balance collaboration, but who really needs that. The “Peace Be the Journey” color way features yellow mesh with a rust colored suede upper, a speckled midsole and a furry backward “N” in periwinkle blue. Collab aside, this is just a beautiful shoe.
Nike Adapt 2.0 “Mag”
Release: Oct 21st, 2020 on Nike SNKRS | Price: $350
One of the most recognizable and coveted color ways ever created, hits the Nike Adapt 2.0. Not only is the make-up from the future, the self-lacing system on the Nike Adapt line is an attempt at the technology featured on the Nike Air Mag, worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future 2. The futuristic shoe features an all grey upper, the recognizable turquoise splatter on the midsole and heel tab, and it wouldn’t be “Mag” without the lights.
Pharrell x Adidas NMD Hu “Dash Green”
Release: Oct 25th, 2020 at Adidas.com | Price: $250
The Pharrell Human Race line has maintained its popularity since it’s introduction, along with Adidas Boost technology. Anything tied to Pharrell seems to be quite impossible to get your hands on. Every pair seems to be uber limited or only seeded for “friends & family” releases, but it doesn’t stop the masses from dreaming about owning a pair. Unfortunately, this “Dash Green” pair isn’t any different, only 7,777 pairs are being made. There is a strong chance we may never see this shoe out in the wild. Those odds won’t stop us from logging on Adidas.com on Sunday morning.
The popular NMD model’s upper is dressed in an awesome “Dash Green” jersey mesh. The boost midsole has a very fitting aged looked as it appears slightly yellowed. The toe box features the Hu signature, with symbols embroidered on the toe that translate to “Human Race.”
