The tastemakers at Gimme Metal have done it again with their latest installment in their Vinyl Club reissue series. The monthly arrivals of limited release, exclusive color variant reissues focus on classic catalogs from artists that have made a lasting impact on the culture with a particular album. The series thus far spans a diverse variety ranging from Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats to Gorgoroth, Amon Amarth to Power Trip with every subgenre of extreme music featured in the spectrum.
The most recent addition to the series highlights the Massachusetts legends Converge. Electing to frame the importance of the band post Jane Doe, Gimme Metal is reissuing the band's 2004 opus in You Fail Me, the band's introductory effort on Epitaph Records.
Gimme Metal Program Director Brian Turner explained the significance of the album. "You Fail Me' is an upward/downward spiral following Converge singer Jacob Bannon's psychic grapple of the prior 'Jane Doe', crisper and more serious as a result. It's a face-punching throwdown with the void itself, up against the wall and summer studio brownouts that disrupted this thing left and right during the recording process. It shows in the mix, the attack, the overall brutality of what this Boston bunch did with their resources and limited time to come out conquering it all. A personalized meld of some of the best metal/hardcore hybrid the genre has to offer."
Targeted release date is September 16th with the last day to sign up being this week, August 31st. The release will be pressed on Gimme exclusive color variant, transparent red with white splatter vinyl making for a great addition to anyone's collection. Sign up to secure your copy - HERE
