Mike Judge reveals a sneak peek at a middle-aged Beavis and Butt-Head

The sketches from the series creator show the underachieving duo might not have aged too well.

Back in 2020, streaming service Paramount+ announced major news that they had cemented a deal with Mike Judge to revive the Beavis and Butt-Head series.

Working in association with Comedy Central, Judge and Paramount+ shared plans to reboot the series and launch a succession of spin-offs and specials with the enduring slackers featured front and center.

During the first part of 2021, news of the Beavis and Butt-Head revival got an added boost as the duo made a special appearance during a ViacomCBS event that further detailed the programming vision for Paramount+. Hilariously dropping in via Zoom, both Beavis and Butthead confirmed that a feature length film was in the works and slated to premiere on the streaming platform.

While not additional information was provided, the 39-second appearance was enough to ignite a firestorm of excitement online with fans clamoring online for the return of the beloved, couch-surfing tandem.

In a recent tweet, creator Mike Judge shared a pair of black and white sketches that provide the first glimpse of what the updated version of Beavis and Butt-Head will look like and the results are well... interesting. The caption accompanied with the sketches from Judge explains, "Beavis and Butt-Head will be returning this year with a brand new movie and more on Paramount+. No exact date yet, but soon. They need some time to get back in shape."

With season nine and ten still in the works for Paramount+, it looks as though 2022 will include a hefty dose of Beavis and Butt-Head. No additional details have been revealed just yet, but seeing Butt-Head's hairline and Beavis in pants is both exciting and depressing at the same damn time.
