One of the biggest takeaways from Super Sunday is always the commercials. Among the hits and misses, there was actually some heavy metal included in the mix thanks to the marketing maniacs at Liquid Death Mountain Water.
Recruiting punk veterans Fat Mike and El Hefe from NoFX, the duo recorded a quick cut of the metal classic, "Breaking the Law" from icons Judas Priest. The audio was cranked to 10 and fueled a rager with a bunch of kids on screen - an obvious play on the long nights of heavy metal drinking rallies complete with tallboys and headbanging - only this version was G-rated.
The spot ends with a pregnant mother coming out to check on the kids before cracking a tallcan and chugging it herself - ending with the the slogan, "Don't Be Scared. It's Just Water."
The ad can be seen in all it's glory below.
The spot comes as NoFX prep for a run of dates on their Punk In Drublic craft beer and punk festivals. The band will perform with the likes of Pennywise, Face to Face, Lagwagon, The Bouncing Souls, and more with stops in Tempe, AZ., and a trio of California dates spanning from San Diego, Ventura, and Sacramento.
