The Patty Jenkins follow-up to the 2017 film was initially slated for a June 5th release. The pandemic would delay the aim to August 14th but again, that would get pushed just the same.
Confirmed now for an October 2nd release, Wonder Woman 1984 sees Gal Gadot returning in her role as the iconic superhero. Alongside co-stars Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, the real take away from the DC FanDome panel was the first look at Kristen Wiig's transformation from Barbara Minerva, into Cheetah.
Also of note, the film is currently not entertaining the idea of streaming. Opting to score a proper theatrical release, director Patty Jenkins told the panel, “I really think the movie is so great on the big screen,” Jenkins' continued. “We’re going to stick it out, and we believe in putting it in the cinema.”
Watch the trailer below and see Kristen Wiig as you have never seen her before.
