A SLEW OF METAL-THEMED BURGERS, COFFEE, AND VEGAN SKEWERS ROUND OUT OCTOBER'S MENU

Knotfest has scoured the country to find some of the best metal-themed restaurants, bars, and cafes. Fierce Eats spotlights a monthly menu highlighting some hard-core menu items that will definitely have fans drooling.

KUMA'S CORNER

Kuma’s started in 2005 with its flagship location at the corner of Belmont and Francisco avenues in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood. From their origins as a corner bar with solid American bistro fare, they’ve grown to five locations that offer the finest burgers available on this planet or any other.

This month's Fierce Eats menu will feature a mouthful of their Burgers of the Month.

KUMA'S INDY - THE LION'S DAUGHTER

The Lion's Daughter takes your choice of protein, lays it on a bed of fries, and tops it with shredded pepper jack cheese, hot mango curry, a sunny-side up egg, and cilantro mint oil. The burger is served in a garlic pretzel bun with a side of Plague Sauce.

Kuma's Indy, 1127 Prospect St., Indianapolis, IN 46203

KUMA'S DENVER - ANTHROCIDE

Denver's offering is a tribute to the city's own Death Metal band Anthrocide. This delicious tribute takes a 10oz Kuma's patty, Giardiniera, Sport peppers, Monterrey Jack, Italian Beef, cheese sauce, and red pepper flake. It's served with a PBR infused Aus Jus.

Kuma's Denver, 3500 Delgany St., Denver, Colorado 80216

KUMA'S CHICAGOLAND - CRADLE OF FILTH (VEGAN) & CRADLE OF FILTH UNCLEAN

Created intricate to the extreme goth metal band, Cradle of Filth. The Vegan burger takes a homestyle bun and stuffs it with an Impossible Patty, Vegan Cheddar, Cradle Sauce (Giardineira Ketchup, Vegan Mayo, and Sriracha), pickles, cherry tomato jam, blackening spice, lettuce, and tempura jalapeño & habanero peppers.

Kuma's Chicago, 2900 Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60618

If you're a carnivore, you can order the unclean version which includes everything listed above but replaces the Impossible Patty with a 10oz Kuma's Patty.

GRILL 'EM ALL - NAPALM DEATH

The Los Angeles burger institution is back this month with another fan favorite. Chef Ryan Harkins and former professional wrestler Matt Chernus started serving gourmet burgers out of a food truck back in 2009. Before opening up their heavy metal themed brick and mortar they won the first ‘Great Food Truck Race’ and were featured on the ‘Best Thing I Ever Ate.’ Their popularity led them to lay their food trucks to rest and serve burgers like the featured Behemoth out of their very own Valhalla.

One customer's review of the Napalm Death read, "I had the Napalm burger and it was the best thing in life." That's all you should know but we'll tell you that the burger includes: jalapeno poppers, habanero aioli, pepper jack, Sriracha and cream cheese on a half pound burger patty.

Grill 'Em All, 19 E. Main St., Alhambra, CA 91801

KINDRED - SKEWERS

KINDRED is described as a whimsical, eccentric space for contemporary vegan fare and drinks complemented by death-metal tunes. Located in the South Park neighborhood of beautiful San Diego, California, this bar serves some of the best brews the city has to offer, a long list of refreshing cocktails, and a killer menu.

The dish includes your choice of skewered chargrilled Seitan or Seared Tofu and topped with a beautiful Chimichurri, Harissa, and Horseradish Aioli.

KINDRED, 1503 30th St., San Diego, CA 92102

BLACK FORGE COFFEE - ALL HALLOWS EVE SACRAMENT

This heavy metal woman-owned business hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ashley Corts began building the Black Forge Coffee brand in 2015 with a mission to provide a creative destination focused on supporting her communities in both Allentown and McKees Rocks, coffee culture and our music and art scene. She offers a safe space for artists of all types to share their craft. Black Forge sources their beans from small, privately-owned farms, their blends change frequently, with the exception of our regular offerings. Not only do they consciously source their beans, they roast in small, 10 lb. batches, ensuring that each bean is up to their standards.

All Hallows Eve Sacrament wields notes of wine and smoke, as a humble tribute to autumn. Full bodied with a seductive aroma, this Halloween sacrament will warm your departed soul and keep you singing macabre songs and dancing ‘till dawn.

Black Forge Coffee, 1206 Arlington Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15210
