Leave it to Serj Tankian to rethink something as traditional as signature guitar release. 

Aligning with the master craftsmen of Gibson Guitars, Tankian has unveiled his new “Foundations” Les Paul Modern guitar. 

In terms of the specs of the unique and especially rare instrument, the  “Foundations” Les Paul™ Modern features an Ultra-Modern weight-relieved mahogany body with a AAA figured maple top adorned with Serj Tankian’s “Sunburst” painting.

The sugnature Les Paul Modern is powered by Burstbucker™ Pro pickups and is signed and numbered - only one through 25 made - on the back of each headstock by Tankian himself to ensure its exceptional standards and exclusivity. 

In celebration of the collaborative release, Tankian hosted the official launch at his own Kavat Café/Eye For Sound Gallery. The event brought together industry professionals and fans all in appreciation of art, culture and music. The event also reiterated the added elements of the guitar release, opting for an experience rather than a conventional product launch. 

For those securing the one-of-twenty-five “Foundations” Gibson Les Paul Modern guitars, a slew of added incentives make the connection to prolific creative a much more personal one. 

Fans are able to secure a signed “Foundations” Gibson Les Paul Modern guitar as well as a signed vinyl copy of Serj Tankian’s FOUNDATIONS EP. Additionally, fans get a signed copy of Serj Tankian’s memoir “Down With The System.” plus a signed 18 x 24” museum-quality print of Serj’s artwork “Sunburst,” which is also featured on the guitar and the EP cover.

Last, though certinaly not least, fans who got their guitar also secured a pair of VIP tickets to an upcoming System Of A Down concert this year.  Fans are able to take their choice of one of six North American dates in the following cities spanning the two night engagements in New York City, Chicago and Toronto.

The launch event was a testament to Tankian's continued rapport with fans and his continued relevance both as the frontman of System of A Down and his prolific body of work as a solo artist, writer and a community-driven activist and humanitarian.
