Among extreme music's emerging class, Cleveland brutalizers 200 Stab Wounds have earned a teflon-reputation for being one of the death metal's most exciting new contributors. Commanding the attention of the heavy music community with their celebrated 2021 release, Slave to the Scalpel, the band have since become road dogs, touring relentlessly in support of the release and making converts along the way.
Characterized by their obvious reverence for the greats of the genre, the band's meld of classic sensibility and contemporary execution has resonated with even the most discerning fan among the death metal purists. Delivering gloriously gory, splatterhouse grade brutality, 200 Stab Wounds harken to the genre's heyday, executed with a modern day edge that resonates as relevant.
Continuing on their upward trajectory, 200 Stab Wounds have announced their eagerly-awaited sophomore full length via Metal Blade Records with the news of Manic Manual Procedures. Produced by Andy Nelson, the effort is nine-tracks of unwavering savagery, asserting the band's well-honed expertise and their commitment to visceral extremity - the cover art offers good evidence of such.
To mark the start of the new campaign, 200 Stab Wounds have shared the opening track in "Hands of Eternity" - a pummeling near 5-minute wallop that asserts the hype surrounds the band is more than justified.
200 Stab Wounds' vocalist Steve Buhl explained of the track that depicts being confined to the madness in your own mind. "That song is a good example of where we want to go musically. The heavy riffs are there, but there's still a lot of good melody. It's not just crazy fucking blast beats and, 'riff riff riff.' It's more structured, groovy, and melodic, but still heavy. That's one of my favorites."
Along with the June release of the album, 200 Stab Wounds have a jam-packed schedule of live dates in support of the release. Set to kick off their run with Dying Fetus and Full of Hell this week, 200 Stab Wounds will trek North America throughout the spring. The band is also confirmed for a European trek supporting Gatecreeper later this year. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below.
