Veteran rock powerhouse 311 have debuted their first new showing of music since 2019 with the release of "You're Gonna Get it". The track sparked clamor among die-hard fans earlier this year, when the band performed it live for the first time during their annual 311 Day Celebration in Las Vegas. Now, the track arrives with a visceral new music video directed by Brian Bowen Smith which takes cues from the 1990 David Fincher classic, Fight Club.
Thematically, the track showcases an introspective side of the 311, as Nick Hexum and SA Martinez trade lines that delve into the notion that for every action, there is a reaction and those consequences will eventually become evident. Musically, the track is anchored by a huge hook and big guitars from the tandem of Hexum and Tim Mahoney - showcasing the rock DNA that has made 311 so enduring.
“The story behind the lyrics to ‘You’re Gonna Get It’ is going back into the mindset of when we were young, and dumb and doing a lot of crazy stuff,” explained frontman Nick Hexum. “Sometimes getting away with it, sometimes with consequences. And I’m going in and out of the first person saying to myself, ‘get your stuff together! Or else you’re gonna get it.’”
"You're Gonna Get It" lands as the band prepare to head overseas for their first European dates in more than 20 years. The band will be appearing at major rock festivals including Rock Im Park/Rock Am Ring in Germany as well as Download in the UK. The band will also headline O2 Academy Islington in London prior to heading to Donington.
