Australian renegades Alpha Wolf have debuted a collaboration of epic proportions. Following the late 2023 release of the molotov single in "Bring Back the Noise" the band has detonated another explosive cut, this time landing the legendary Ice-T as a contributor.
"Sucks 2 Suck" marks the second single release of new material since the band's 2022 Lost & Long split with label mates, Holding Absence. The confrontational spirit of the track, combined with the instrumental bombast and of course the shit talking expertise of the one and only Ice-T, makes for a memorable showing and an auspicious indicator the next chapter of Alpha Wolf.
Teaming with director Jordan Phoenix, the clip frames the band's fiery performance and culminates with an emphatic appearance from Ice-T to deliver the final nail in the coffin.
Speaking about the motives of the single, Alpha Wolf frontman man Loochie doesn't mince his words. “It's about biting back at anyone saying you didn't work hard for the shit you have. If you had the ethic and tenacity, you'd have it too, but you suck so you don't.”
The single arrives as the introduction of the next full length campaign for Alpha Wolf - kicking off the rollout for their third studio album, Half Living Things. The self-produced effort is due out April 5th via Greyscale Records and SharpTone Records and marks the first LP since the band's heralded 2020 showing, A Quiet Place to Die.
Further elaborating on the ethos of the latest project, Loochie discussed the kind of collective headspace that produced the album. Half Living Things. "There can be no inner conflict without the constant tug of war between desire and disdain, the things you want versus the things you need, or the things that make you feel alive against the parts of it that do not. You cannot grow new parts without leaving the dead ones behind. You cannot be settled until you have truly known the opposite. Find out what makes you tick and just keep running around the clock until you're happy enough to die.”
The news lands as the band currently close out their Australian tour supporting giants, The Amity Affliction and prepare for the return of their own curated festival in CVLTFEST which features the likes of Crossfaith, Emmure and many more. Additionally, the band has been confirmed for a handful of prestigious festival plays including Download Festival and Jera On Air in the Netherlands this summer.
