Norwegian stoner punks BOKASSA are making waves with their latest single "Let's Storm The Capitol," a satirical track that takes a critical look at the ease with which people are manipulated by opportunists.
Accompanying this release is the announcement of their new album All Out Of Dreams, set to drop on February 16th, 2024, through Indie Recordings. The band describes the single as a blend of various musical influences, ranging from Propagandhi-esque metal riffs to Alkaline Trio-like choruses, with a touch of KISS and Pantera.
Recorded by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios in Denmark, All Out Of Dreams promises a diverse listening experience over its ten tracks. The album features guest appearances from Aaron Beam of Red Fang and Lou Koller from Sick Of It All, marking the first time BOKASSA has collaborated with other artists on a record. The band's trademark mix of genres remains a key aspect of their sound, with the new album embracing a rawer, metallic edge compared to their previous works.
BOKASSA's approach to each album is to create a distinct sonic identity, and All Out Of Dreams follows this ethos, incorporating '90s metal, rock, and punk influences into its sound. The album's title and themes reflect a sense of resignation and hopelessness, whether related to personal failures, societal disillusionment, or broader systemic issues.
The band, known for their energetic live performances, is currently touring Europe with hard rock band Therapy? and will soon be heading to the UK. BOKASSA consists of Jørn Kaarstad on lead vocals and guitar, Bård Linga on bass and vocals, and Olav Dowkes on drums and vocals.
Their journey from their debut album Divide & Conquer to the present has seen them gain significant recognition, including touring with Metallica and releasing their third album "Molotov Rocktail" to critical acclaim. With All Out Of Dreams, BOKASSA continues to push the boundaries of their sound and maintain their reputation as one of the most exciting bands in the punk and stoner rock scene.
