Presented as a joint effort between CBGB & OMFUG and The Bowery Presents, the CBGB Festival has been revived from it's early 2000-teens era, this time refocused as a one-day, three stage event set for September 27th Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn.
While the iconic New York club and it's long linage of punk, hardcore and alternative is forever cemented in the books, the location shuddered in 2006. Resurfacing in the festival format first in 2012 and enjoying a brief run, the banner has since been dormant - until now.
For the 2025 edition of CBGB Festival, the comparable Iggy Pop will serve as the headlining artist with Jack White as his counterpart. The top portion of the billing also features the reconfigured Sex Pistols with Frank Carter at the helm. The Damned will also perform as a featured guest.
As for the bulk of the bill, the punk credibility is strong an diverse with a line-up that spans generations and subgenre. The artists confirmed for CBGB Festival 2025 range from post-punk, hardcore, more. Set to perform include Johnny Marr, Lunachicks, Marky Ramone, Angel Du$t, Cro-Mags, Destroy Boys, Gorilla Biscuits, Lambrini Girls, The Linda Lindas, Melvins, Murphy’s Law, Scowl, Teen Mortgage, Lip Critic, Pinkshift, Soul Glo, and YHWH Nailgun.
Tickets for the CBGB Festival are set to go on sale May 16th at 10am. In addition to pre-sales happening May 15th, CBGB Festival will be reinforcing the local identity of the brand with their “Young Punk” ticket. This is a special priced ticket reserved for NYC residents under 25. There are just 350 of these and they will be available starting May 17 at 12pm local time, in person at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. These are just $73 - in tribute of the year CBGB's first opened.
