Fresh off their hightlight showing at Coachella this spring and their recent sell out of their annual Dia De Los Deftones festival set for this November, Deftones are gearing up for their Lollapalooza appearance in Chicago this weekend with a special one-off set.
The band will perform in the especially intimate setting of Chicago's famed, The Metro on August 1st along with an opening set from ascending heavy alt unit, Fleshwater. The storied venue holds just more than a thousand patrons at capacity and at no surprise to anyone, the event sold out instantly.
The warm up show precedes the band's appearance at the 2024 installment of festival forefather, Lollapalooza. Among the 170 bands stretching across eight stages and four full days, standouts include heavy hitters like the aforementioned Deftones as well as Grammy award-winning Killer Mike, Pierce the Veil, In this Moment, Kevin Abstract, Vince Staples, Kenny Beats, TV Girl, Teezo Touchdown and more.
Additionally, the fest will showcase a strong aggregate of skyrocketing talent with strong prospects like Militarie Gun, Destroy Boys, Fleshwater, Eyedress, Slow Pulp, BigXThaPlug, Cults and plenty more.
The festival coincides with the recent premiere of LOLLA; THE STORY OF LOLLAPALOOZA. The film streaming via Paramount+ frames how a Jane’s Addiction farewell tour evolved into a cultural sea change, impacting the culture of music festivals even in the modern era.
The three-part docuseries features first-hand accounts from Lollapalooza founder and Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell is now on-demand via Paramount+.
