The confirmation arrives with a blistering new single, “Watch My Promise Die”
Metallic hardcore unit Dying Wish first offered a glimpse of their next chapter earlier this spring when the band debuted a crushing single in, “Torn From Your Silhouette“. Tapping into classic heft of early 2000’s core, Dying Wish revealed the evolution of their sound and their continued growth as skilled songwriters.
Now, the band have confirmed their arrival of their next full length studio project with the news of Symptoms of Survival. The album is set to arrive on November 3rd via SharpTone Records and will feature 11-tracks of intensity and introspection from one of the genre’e most promising prospects.
Boster explains her creative headspace, “‘Watch My Promise Die’ is written about the overwhelming anxiety of pre-destined failure,” shares the vocalist. “When you commit everything you have to one area of your life, the idea of it falling apart looms with such heavy importance. The song is written from the perspective of toying with that fear, allowing your weakness to overcome before you lose everything in a means outside of your control.”
Boster goes on to explain how the single works into the greater scheme of an album that has a common thread throughout, “Symptoms of Survival is an eleven-part piece covering the complexity of human suffering in all forms. From the honest and personal perspective of heartbreak, painful trauma, loss, rage, and regret — to the more objective perspective of war, greed, and ultimate survival.”
The album announcement lands as the band preps for their highly-anticipated set at Sound and Fury this weekend in Los Angeles. Later this summer, the band will trek to Australia for a September tour supporting The Acacia Strain, and have recently been confirmed to perform at Wrecking Ball Metal Madness in late October with Dying Fetus, 200 Stab Wounds, Despised Icon, Frozen Soul and more.
