Los Angeles-raised outfit Fever 333 is set to release Darker White on October 4th via Century Media Records under exclusive license from 333 Wreckords Crew. The confirmation marks the first studio effort of the most current configuration of Fever 333 which features venerated drummer Thomas Pridgen, bassist April Kae, and guitarist Brandon Davis all aligning with frontman Jason Aalon Butler for the next phase of the Fever movement.
Continuing a succession of singles that have trickled out over the course of the year, Fever has rolled out a series of anthems starting with the standalone single "Ready Rock" earlier this year, followed by the band's ushering in of the "New World Order", earlier this summer, the track offered testament to frontman Jason Aalon Butler's pedigree of West Coast Hip Hop.
Fever then followed with arguably their most poignant assertion with "Higher Power". The single combines the band's energized brand of musical resistance, backed by a compelling message of empowerment specifically recognizing contributions of Black, Brown, and Asian people to the nation. Fever would then bounce back with with the highly charged "No Hostages" which underscored the range of one of rock's most dynamic collectives.
Now, Fever has delivered another driving, energized single with the infectious pulse of "Desert Rap". Aligning with the band's message of empowerment and self-reliance, Jason Aalon Butler spoke about deep-seeded message of the track. “If you hope to be an instrument for change, you must remember to keep said instrument sharp,” explained Butler “Fatigue will find you if you don't find yourself first. On the micro and macro level, this song serves as a reminder that when trying to do right by the people remember you as a person as well.”
Speaking to the themes of the album, Jason Aalon Butler stressed the importance of the next presentation from the band. "'DARKER WHITE' is the intersection we will all find ourselves in at some point in our lives,” prefaced Butler. “It is the struggle we will inevitably face when identifying our metric for good or bad. Wrong or right. Dark and light. All based on our environment, social construction and cultural/psychological conditioning."
Butler finished, "It is the eagle-eyed observation of said intersection and the removing the shame after realizing we all experience it and it is up to us to find use of this taboo so it can be offered to the world as a beautiful story, piece of wisdom or a perspective that ironically changes your life for the better. 'DARKER WHITE' is a sonic and social experience.”
Along with the confirmation of the new album, Fever 333 continues to build momentum ahead of their confirmed slate of headlining tour dates touching down in the US, UK and Europe - filling out the band's 2024 calendar. Emerging powerviolence unit ZULU will join Fever 333 on all us dates with a rotation of Move, Hue and Bucki Sugar taking on select dates throughout the run.
