Earlier this week, Fit For An Autopsy announced their seventh full length album, The Nothing That Is. The album is due for an October 25th via Nuclear Blast Records and follows the resounding success of the preceding 2022 LP, Oh, What the Future Holds - which functioned as the band first-ever entry to reach the Top 25 of the Billboard 200.
The effort was produced by the band's own Will Putney and further distills FFAA's distinct brand of musical destruction - fusing various elements of musical extremity with unique expertise.
Offering the first glimpse of the forthcoming onslaught, Fit For An Autopsy have shared the introductory single, "Hostage". The masterful combination of intensity and intricacy, underscores the band's undeniable skill and their refined approach to extreme music. Incendiary guitars, a punishing cadence behind the drums and a commanding performance from vocalist Joe Badolato make for a emphatic first impression.
The band offered some insight to the weight of the new single, “‘Hostage’ is an examination of the human trauma and grief one carries through life.
The inability to escape events of the past combined with the feeling of an increasingly dark future can weigh on a person like nothing else. This song is intended to capture that complex and overwhelming emotion and conveys the negative side of a sorrowed existence.”
Along with the news of the band's forthcoming fall release, Fit For An Autopsy announced a headlining run in support of the album with The Nothing That Is U.S. Tour. The run will kick off October 18th Worcester, MA at the Palladium and close out a month later in New Haven, CT. Enlisting a powerful caravan of support, Fit For An Autopsy will be flanked by Bodysnatcher, Distant, Sylosis and Judiciary for the 25-date stretch.
