Heavy Metal Practitioners Nite Announce Third Album, 'Cult of the Serpent Sun'

- By Ramon Gonzales

The band have shared the first single from the album with "Crow (Fear the Night)".

Bay area heavy metal traditionalists Nite have confirmed the March 14th release of their third full length album, Cult of the Serpent Sun. The project marks the band's follow up to their acclaimed 2022 LP, Voices of the Kronian Moon and continues the band's partnership with extreme music authority, Season of Mist.

Anchored by the tandem fretwork of Van Labrakis and Scott Hoffman, Nite's stylistic distinction is one rooted in the timelessness of traditional heavy metal, ushered into the modern day. Precision execution, dynamic songwriting and an obvious reverence for the greats all comprise equal parts of Nite's classic approach to contemporary heft.

On album three, the band manages to incorporate an added element to their attack. Less a stylistic shft and more a sharpening of the blade, Van Labrakis  explains how Nite has stepped up their assault for this next entry. "We play a traditional style of heavy metal, but the blackened element takes us in a different direction", Labrakis says.

Along with the confirmation of the next album, Nite have shared the lead single from the release with the reveal of  "Crow (Fear the Night)".  As much a rallying cry as the introductory track, the cut showcases the band's traditional flair while galvanizing fans with a sound that sends a charge from the very start.

"'Crow (Fear the Night)' is a call to those on the edge, a beckoning cry out of the shadows into the light", says NITE. "The headbanging masses band together under a sinister banner, leaving exile and finding themselves stronger as the cult of the serpent sun rises".

Cult of the Serpent Sun lands March 14th via Season of Mist. The album is available for pre-order - HERE
